1. | Microgeneration of Energy with Electrolyte use Organic Substrate Compounds Finamor, J. N. S. and Candido, Luis Henrique Alves International Journal of Advances in Engineering & Technology (IJAET), Volume 10 Issue 5, pp. 541-550, October 2017. ABSTRACT The search for energy sources is something inherent in the history of society and even more so with the impact of industrial revolutions, which have forced a growth in the use of fossil fuels. Oil crises and environmental treaties led to the deepening of research and applications in Renewable Energies. Among these several kinds of research, the development of electrochemical cells stands out. These cells may have chemical and biochemical reactions. This range of information often generates technical doubts for its applications in the design of electrical and electronic products, which seek to reduce its impact, mainly in the final disposal. In this sense, the present research seeks to contribute with technical-scientific data guiding for the generation of micro-energy, from the use of natural materials to manufacture the biochemical cell. In view of this requirement, ten natural materials with potential for a direct current generation were selected. Thus, the selection and classification of these materials that will come to compose the electrolytes were marked by slightly acid pH (5-6) as well as by their electrical conductivity. The three materials that presented a better performance in questions of conductivity and alkaline pH, underwent an analysis of the content of Calcium and Magnesium, which even makes good salts in electrolytes. After the characterization tests, electrochemical cell systems composed of copper and zinc electrodes and the three materials selected as electrolyte were assembled. The results showed that the leaves of lemon, tangerine, and orange present a potential for energy generation. In an open circuit test composed of sixteen electrochemical cells with lemon leaves presented an average potential of 7 V. |

2. | A Theoretical Model for Computer-Aided Image Recognition System based on Diverse Inputs Richa Sharma and T. R. Gopalakrishnan Nair International Journal of Advances in Engineering & Technology (IJAET), Volume 10 Issue 5, pp. 551-557, October 2017. ABSTRACT This paper proposes a multiple senses model to match with the object/pattern recognition accuracy, which the human being achieve, with the help of five sense organs, against the machines. The proposed model can help the computer-aided pattern recognition to reach as close as possible to natural visual perception. The initial investigation based on 16 X-ray images shows that even if the input from a single source (X-ray machine) is exploited in the best possible way, using spectral analysis (Fourier, wavelets, morphological etc.), geometry, fractals, statistics etc. The classification accuracy of an object/pattern can further be improved considerably if we effectively fuse inputs received from other diverse sources for the same object. An effective fusion of information, collected from diverse sources, can make computer-aided image recognition closer to natural visual perception. The initial investigation based on 16 X-ray images affected with Tuberculosis shows that the disease recognition accuracy got improved from 85% to 93 % when we added two additional features from a different source of input. |

3. | Analysis of Delamination and Specific Cutting Energy of a Composite Made of Vinyl Ester Resin and Chopped Glass Fibers During Drilling Anil M Javali and Anant B Marathe International Journal of Advances in Engineering & Technology (IJAET), Volume 10 Issue 5, pp. 558-571, October 2017. ABSTRACT Composites are being used as most interesting group of materials. Drilling is frequently used as secondary machining operation for building assemblies. The material anisotropy resulting from fiber reinforcement influences material removal rate and power consumption during drilling. A proper selection of tool geometry, drilling parameters like speed, feed can influence these parameters. In this paper, effect of three cutting speeds, three feed rates, three tool geometries on two chemically different structures of composite made up of thermosetting vinyl ester resin and one fourth inch long glass fiber by compression molding were compared for specific cutting energy and delamination. A plan of experiments, based on the techniques of Taguchi was established. The analysis of variance, signal-to-noise ratio and regression analysis were performed to investigate the specific cutting energy. Conclusions showed that the influence of proper selection of tool and cutting parameters on material removal rate, structure of composite and power consumption. It was observed that the highest specific cutting energy was achieved by using smallest point angle at high speed. The main contributing factor for highest specific cutting energy was observed to be feed followed by speed and point angle of the drill. For all combination of the point angle, speed and feed, the delamination factor was found to be zero. |
